THE must-book massage

i’m crazy excited to write this post this morning because i’m about to share with the community i love the best body work -hands down – i have ever received.  i have had the delicious pleasure – not once, but TWICE now (considering it’s my been first body work since baby 15 months ago – eek! – this should tell you that it’s beyond worth your time) of receiving a thai massage from the esteemed amy baglan of lifestyle republic.  i don’t typically review personal services to the tease community…but i truly feel it’s my DUTY after experiencing this service – it is 100% a must-book service for anyone who is hard on their body.

the very last person i make any time for these days is myself – and i’m flying high on life, it’s ALL good – but there are definitely some lingering body “issues” from carrying kai pre & post labor, as well as some OLD (but still there!) pole injuries.  you know how women are…we just deal.  well after i had the pleasure of getting to know amy through the couples yoga & massage workshops and yoga dates events she hosts at tease, i was FINALLY prepared to dedicate 90 minutes to my bod and turn the world off.  not only is amy’s training and knowledge top notch but her radiance just screams a love for everything that she creates – and i liked that….i definitely felt like i had connected with someone who would completely value the time i was dedicating.  the idea of “thai yoga massage” (also called “the lazy man’s yoga”, practiced for thousands of years to achieve a state of well-being with a HUGE list of benefits including deep relaxation, increased flexibility, pain relief, improved posture, easier breathing, calmer nervous system….the list goes on) was pure bliss to me.  thai yoga massage boasts healing bodywork combining deep assisted stretching, acupressure massage technique and medatitive breathing to promote full-body relaxation and restoration – all of which i was craving – yum.

i walked into amy’s lohi studio space on a cold late monday afternoon after being pulled in nothing short of a million different directions with work all day.  instant ahh.  her zen space completely sucked me in (i ended my second apt asking her if i could move in, only half kidding!).  after a quick but in-depth q&a, my intensions were set and we began.

amy’s flawless combination of thai massage with western techniques is incredible.  it is NOTHING like the lateral massage you are used to.  with amy’s way of incorporating deep assisted stretching (tease addicts you will LOVE this) into the massage service as well as her intricate knowledge of acupressure, amy was able to access injured muscles in a way that i’ve never experienced before.   she treated my injuries in ways that i felt immediate sense of relief after just the first service.  this combined with the terrifically relaxing & therapeutic state the massage guided me into….i was on cloud 9.  deep tissue sports medicine body work that provides a spa-like effect has been something i had never found up until this point….and the combination of the spa-therapy results is simply divine.

if you are in need of some body work (wanting to release muscle tension from your pole workouts or increase flexibility), are in need of giving yourself some tlc or are wanting to treat someone else to THE massage of their life, book an appointment with amy.  to make the appointment even sweeter, amy has generously extended a discount to our tease community through the end of february (she runs this deal for V.I.Tease members all the time).

enjoy, xo
